Guidelines of Oral Presentations at 2019 CWMD International Conference

  • The duration of all parallel session is 110 minutes. Each session has three to five papers.
    Presentation time is 15 minutes, and Q&A for 5 minutes. Sessions with less than five papers, the session chair may allocate extra time for discussion and allow some extension of presentation times.
  • Chairs and presenters should be present in the session room 10-15 minutes before the session starts. Presenters are requested to check laptop connection before the session starts.
  • Please manage your presentation time strictly. The session chair will remind the presenter when; 14 min have passed (first ring), 15 min have passed (second ring) and 20 min have passed (third ring).
  • Questions can be asked after each presentation, and also at the end of all presentations if time permits. This is decided by the session chair.
  • At the end of the session, the chair will hand out the “certificate of presentation” to all the presenters.

For Poster Presenters

Each poster will be allocated a 170 cm height x 110 cm width board, and the poster should fit within this area.
The posters should be displayed before the poster session begins.
During the session, the presenters should stay by their own posters for the presentation and communicating with the other participants (including reviewers for the student awards from the organizers).

Poster session: 14:10 -15:10, Sep 20
The boards will be available from 15:00 Sep 18 to 18:00 Sep 20.

About Oral and Poster Presentation Awards

The Best Oral Presentation Award will be given to three students who are judged to have made the best three oral presentations at the conference. This award is based on the marks given by a session chair.

The Best Poster Presentation Award will be given to three students who are judged to have made the best three poster presentations at the conference. This award is based on the marks given by the evaluation committee.

The award ceremony will be held at 17:15 on 20th in the room 223.

Task of Chairperson

It is greatly appreciated if you could do the following three tasks as a chairperson.
(1) Time Control
  • Each presenter has 20 min (15 min for presentation and 5 min for Q&A.)
  • The first ring when 14 min have passed.
    The second ring when 15 min have passed.
    Third ring when 20 min have passed.
(2) Evaluation of students’ presentations for awards
  • Identify presenter if he /she is a student before the presentation.
  • If the presenter is a student, judge their presentation by using an evaluation sheet with criteria.
  • Please submit the evaluation sheet to the reception desk.
(3) Certificate of presentation
  • The conference staff will pass the “certification of presentation” for all presenters to you before the session.
  • Distribute the certificate of presentation to the presenters at the end of the session.
