- All the presentations & papers will be in English.
- We suggest that oral presenters can bring their laptop computer for the presentation.
- Each poster will be allocated a 170 cm height x 110 cm width board, and the poster must fit within this area.
Conference Objectives
- Provide a platform to discuss issues, challenges and solutions to address climate change, disaster management and environmental sustainability.
- Create an avenue for presenting the research works and sharing knowledge on current trends, risks and impacts of climate change, disasters and other environmental problems.
- Engage multi-stakeholders including researchers, policy makers, practitioners, private sector and community representatives towards a livable, resilient and sustainable community, region and globe.
- Offer a platform for invaluable networking opportunity among all the delegates and participants.
Call for Paper
The world is experiencing an increasing level of risk and impact of climatic change and disasters. It is crucial to understand the relationship between climate change, extreme weather events and disasters, the impacts of such events, and the strategies to reduce climate and disaster risks as well as the potential for integrating climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. Therefore, the Center for Water Cycle, Marine Environment and Disaster Management (CWMD) initiates to organize this conference which aspires to address such issues for better understanding and solutions that can benefit the people and society across the world.
The Conference welcomes any papers including but not limited to the following themes/topics:
- Climate Change – sciences, cause & effect, impacts, vulnerability, mitigation and adaptation
- Natural and human made hazard & disasters; risk & vulnerability assessment
- Extreme weather, climate and hydrological events; rapid and slow onset events

Submission & Proceedings
All the authors are invited to submit abstract limited to 400 words. The notification (acceptance/rejection) will be informed within 2 weeks after the abstract submission.
After the acceptance of abstracts, authors are required to submit full papers which will be reviewed and published in ISBN proceedings.
Full paper ー 4 to 10 pages; Times New Roman with Single Space.
The final manuscript must be a PDF file with the file size less than 2MB.
No-Show Policy
At least one author or co-author should attend and present the paper (accepted) at the conference. Any paper that is notpresented (oral/poster) at the conference will not be published on the Proceedings of 2019 International Conference on Climate Change, Disaster Management and Environmental Sustainability by Kumamoto University.
